We create thriving, sustainable gardens that nourish the soil, support wildlife, and offer peaceful, therapeutic spaces. Specializing in growing food and teaching clients how to grow their own, we also provide companion gardening services for those eager to learn and connect with nature.
Red Willow Horticulture designs gardens that work with you and the land to create a harmonious landscape with a pleasing and calming aesthetic. I focus on blending colour, texture, light, and symmetry to create spaces that feel vibrant and exciting while also capturing the soothing and safe feelings of nature. I love how colour can set the mood, while textures add layers of depth and interest. Light plays such an important role, transforming a space as the day unfolds, and symmetry provides a sense of order. Ultimately, I aim to create a landscape that feels dynamic yet peaceful, with every element thoughtfully balanced.
I offer one-on-one consulting for homeowners who want to learn how to care for their yard, grow vegetables, or maintain their garden with expert advice. I have consulted with organizations like New Roads Recovery Center, Mason Street Farm and the Lieutenants Governor's Gardens to provide advice, support and education in expanding, maintaining and cultivating the lands and the people who care for it.
For our living landscapes to stay healthy and vibrant they need to be nurtured. I offer garden maitenance that takes a holistic and organic approch, ensuring your garden thrives naturally while staying in balance with the surrounding environment. Using sustainable practices like composting, mulching, and organic pest control, i'll create a healthy, vibrant space that flourishes over time. I tailor my services to meet the specific needs of your garden, making sure each plant is nurtured and the soil remails fertile.
Just like our plant friends we also grow better with companionship. Our Companion Gardening Service offers expert guidance for those who want to enjoy their garden but need a helping hand. Whether you're a beginner or seasoned gardener, I will assist you with planting, pruning, and design, while helping you learn and build confidence. With my support, you'll not only transform your garden but also enrich your life, benefiting from both the physical and mental rewards of spending time in nature.
My passion for gardening and admiring nature started very early in my childhood. Growing up on Hornby Island, a small island off the coast of British Columbia, Canada, had a huge impact on my connection with nature. My skills and knowledge have grown over the years, and I love sharing my passion with my clients. I completed my training at the Pacific Center for Horticulture in Victoria BC in 2010, In 2011 I completed the organic master gardener course with Gaia College at Royal Roads University. I have been a farmer, a teacher, an educator, head gardener for a large estate, and I consulted at the Governor General's house building and operating the Victory over Covid garden in 2020. I currently consult for New Roads Recovery Center in the work as a therapy program.
Our mission is to connect people to the land, the creatures that share it with us, and to themselves through thoughtful garden design, consulting, companion gardening, and ongoing maintenance. We aim to create spaces that foster deeper connections with nature, cultivate sustainable ecosystems, and promote personal well-being.
